Umami Old Fashioned

Recipe:
2 oz Shāng 
¼ oz Screwball Peanut Whiskey 
8 drops Scorpion Japanese Umami Bitters  
 
Garnish:
Salted or Honey Roasted Peanuts (Served on the Side) 
OR Lemon Twist 
Serve over Large Cube or 70 mm Ice Sphere 

Glassware: 
Double-wide Old Fashioned 

Method of Preparation: 
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass, add large ice, stir thoroughly, taste for balance, single strain over cube or sphere, garnish and serve. 

INSPIRATION

Unlike traditional American Whiskey, Baijiu Whiskey features the most wonderful umami notes which are both earthy and savory.  Peanut butter pairs particularly well.  This recipe is a riff on a classic old fashioned.  Instead of using sugar, add a quarter ounce of peanut butter whiskey and serve with dry roasted peanuts.  Extraordinary.
