Dàn Yǎ
Pronounced dahn-yah
A refined expression of traditional jiàngxiāng báijiǔ, Dàn Yǎ is layered, aromatic, and unexpectedly smooth.
It begins with red sorghum fermented in a solid state with dàqū in the Chìshuǐ River basin of Guìzhōu. After years of ceramic aging, the spirit is redistilled and refined to preserve its depth while creating a softer, more polished finish.
Complex without being overpowering, Dàn Yǎ offers a modern introduction to the flavor and craftsmanship of báijiǔ.
Two traditions. one glass
The East + West Series asks what happens when jiàngxiāng whiskey meets the defining character of Kentucky whiskey.
Each expression brings together cultures, techniques, and flavor traditions to create something balanced, bold, and entirely new.
Not one spirit overpowering the other. Two spirits becoming more together.
Distillation & Refinement
After fermentation, the spirit is carefully distilled and refined to preserve its distinctive floral, savory, and grain-forward qualities. Every step is designed to maintain balance while highlighting the depth that makes SHÃNG unique.
American Oak Maturation
The final transformation takes place through maturation in American oak. The wood contributes structure, warmth, vanilla sweetness, and subtle spice, creating a harmonious bridge between Eastern tradition and Western whiskey craftsmanship.
